Hydrogen Week 2026: Open House Afternoon at the ZBT

Starting at 1:30 p.m., we welcome interested visitors — both the general public and experts — to our institute on the Duisburg campus of the University of Duisburg-Essen.

At 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., we’ll hold presentations on hydrogen as an energy carrier and on our work, followed by a guided tour of key research and development areas at the ZBT: through the main laboratory, past our fuel cell and electrolysis test benches, along the new ammonia facility and the Hy-Lab hydrogen quality laboratory, all the way to our test field, where visitors can see storage facilities, our hydrogen test filling station, and many other technical installations.

In between sessions and until 6:00 p.m., you’ll also have the opportunity to chat with our researchers and exchange ideas over cold drinks and snacks.

Anyone who doesn’t want to miss this behind-the-scenes look at our hydrogen research is cordially invited to join us on 24. June 2026, starting at 1:30 p.m. Registration is appreciated but not required.

Every year, Hydrogen Week (#WDW) invites people across Germany to make hydrogen visible, understandable, and tangible. For nine days, there are events for interested members of the public, experts, and anyone who wants to learn more about the energy of the future.
