Projects

The ZBT conducts research, development, and consulting in the fields of hydrogen, fuel cells, and electrolysis. In its research projects, the ZBT covers the entire spectrum, from basic research — primarily in the area of new materials — through application-oriented research to R&D projects for industry.

At conferences, technical workshops, and other events, we are happy to present our findings in talks and poster presentations to facilitate direct discussion. Our scientific articles provide detailed insights and are published in renowned journals. In addition, our project reports offer further comprehensive overviews of our work.

Research

The ZBT – the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Center in Duisburg conducts application-oriented research on hydrogen-related topics, thus building a bridge between fundamental research and industry.

Publications

The results of publicly funded research projects belong to the general public. Publications are therefore an important part of our work.

Equipment

We have high-end laboratories, a wide range of measuring instruments and individually developed test benches. In the Hy-Lab, we analyse hydrogen samples for purity and contamination. On our hydrogen test field, we examine the interaction of systems and components on a 1:1 scale. And at the hydrogen test station, we develop hydrogen filling stations and refuelling protocols.
