ZBT Hydrogen Energy Symposium

At the annual ZBT Hydrogen Energy Symposium hosted by the ZBT Research School, hydrogen researchers gather in Duisburg to present the results of their work and exchange the latest findings.

The ZBT Hydrogen Energy Symposium (ZHyEnS) offers a unique opportunity to learn about the latest research findings, exchange ideas, and network with experts. Those interested can look forward to a day filled with the latest research findings and discussions on hydrogen technologies.

The presentations, selected based on the submitted abstracts, will be complemented by high-profile keynote speeches. The event will also feature a poster exhibition. The event will be held entirely in English at the ZBT in Duisburg.

The topics include:

  • Functional Materials and Electrochemical Systems
  • Hydrogen Storage, Transportation, Safety, and Regulations
  • Fuel Cells and Electrolysers
  • Hydrogen Applications in Transportation, Industry, and Energy Systems

The ZBT Hydrogen Energy Symposium is organized by the ZBT Research School, the central platform for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary networking, and individual professional development at ZBT.

The call for abstracts for the ZBT Hydrogen Energy Symposium 2026 has closed. We are pleased with the large number of submissions and are currently working on the program. Registration will open in mid-August.

The decarbonisation of heavy-duty transportation is a key element of the energy transition. Establishing a viable hydrogen mobility system requires close coordination among vehicle development, component and system engineering, infrastructure, and political and economic conditions.
