SKZ Conference “Plastics for Fuel Cells and Modern Battery Technology”

Leaders and key figures from the plastics industry and research sector will gather on 21 and 22 November 2023 for the SKZ Conference “Plastics for Fuel Cells and Modern Battery Technology” in Duisburg to chart the course for the energy transition.

The energy transition has begun. The ponderous ship is slowly changing course. Although the engines are still largely powered by fossil fuels, the switch to clean energy sources is progressing. Electricity from renewable sources is driving us forward more and more.

But renewables are not available continuously – sometimes too little, sometimes too much, rarely just the right amount. That is why we need storage: batteries for the next windless nights, and hydrogen from electrolysers, with which we can store the surplus for the winter. Batteries and fuel cells can thus work in tandem to help decarbonise energy, industry and transport.

There are numerous practical applications for both. And both still hold great potential for development – including in terms of the materials used. New, innovative plastics are urgently needed, all over the world.

The direction we take will be discussed at the SKZ conference “Plastics for Fuel Cells and Modern Battery Technology” in Duisburg.

Join us! We look forward to seeing you!
