Event: Insights into hydrogen research in Duisburg

Experience the energy solutions of the future up close during Hydrogen Week: On 19. June 2024, the ZBT and the neighboring NanoEnergieTechnikZentrum will open their doors for exciting insights into research and development. Guided tours will show you our laboratories and the hydrogen test field.

Hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolysis – from synthesis to application, we are researching and developing the energy system of the future. From molecular structures to entire systems and infrastructures, we look at every detail and keep an eye on the big picture.

Great words are one thing – but seeing for yourself is much better: On 19. June 2024 – during the Germany-wide Hydrogen Week – the ZBT – The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Center and the NanoEnergieTechnikZentrum (NETZ) will therefore open their doors together from 1:30 pm.

In its research, NETZ focuses on the development of the fundamentals, while ZBT concentrates more on the implementation of new technologies. Experience both perspectives and how they go hand in hand to shape the energy solutions of the future!

We offer parallel tours starting at 2 pm and 3:30 pm so that you can visit one institute first and then the other. After a brief overview of our facilities and our work, you will be taken on a tour of some of our laboratories and the hydrogen test field. You can also take a look at our hydrogen-powered fuel cell service vehicle.

Come along, take a look around and talk to our scientists! We look forward to hearing from you and answering your questions.

Please register for the event here.

Tips for (sustainable) travel:

NETZ and ZBT are easily accessible by streetcar 901 and bus 933:

Line 901 – Zoo/Uni stop plus five minutes on foot
Line 933 – Uni Nord stop plus five minutes on foot

Apart from the sustainability aspects, we also recommend traveling by bike or public transport because access by car is currently very difficult due to road closures caused by construction work and parking spaces are very scarce because of the construction sites.

The institutes are located on the Duisburg campus of the University of Duisburg-Essen and are directly adjacent:
Carl-Benz-Straße 199 (NETZ) and 201 (ZBT)
47057 Duisburg
