Areas of tension analysed: standardisation of hydrogen value chains

An analysis of areas of tension highlights the challenges and progress made in standardising hydrogen value chains and identifies specific courses of action.

A recent analysis of areas of tension examines technical standardisation work in the context of hydrogen at regional, national and international level. It not only highlights the fundamentals of multinational cooperation, but also its implementation and the financing concepts of technical standardisation organisations.

The publication provides a detailed insight into the status of standardisation work and identifies existing areas of tension. The aim is not only to highlight challenges, but also to derive concrete courses of action to further advance the standardisation of hydrogen value chains.

 

This analysis of areas of tension was developed as part of the Trans4ReaL project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. In the Trans4ReaL joint project, the seven partners – including ZBT – are making an important contribution to scientific transfer research for the ‘real-world laboratories of the energy transition with a focus on hydrogen technologies and sector coupling’.
