Workshop: Innovative coatings for fuel cell components

At the invitation of the cH2ance transformation hub, participants in a workshop at ZBT discussed how new coating processes can contribute to improving the efficiency and durability of fuel cell components.

As part of the BMWK-funded transformation hub cH2ance, a workshop on improving the surface coating of metal components was held at ZBT. Our scientists Jörg Karstedt and Verena Lukassek provided technical input.

Discussions on new coating processes such as PVD, CVD and galvanic methods were particularly intense and productive. These processes are crucial for further optimising the corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity of fuel cell components. The use of advanced coating technologies opens up new possibilities for increasing the efficiency and durability of fuel cells.

We would like to thank all co-organisers and participants for their valuable contributions and productive discussions. The insights gained will be incorporated into future projects and drive progress in fuel cell technology.
