MEA PapSt – Development of a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) suitable for large-scale production for PEM water electrolysis based on cost-effective graphite and titanium paper current distributors
In 2022, a partnership-based research consortium began an IGF follow-up project focusing on scaling up the titanium paper laboratory formulation as an anode PTL (pore transport layer) and developing a graphite paper as a cathode PTL for proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE). The aim of the project is to develop a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) supported by paper current collectors that exploits the advantages of titanium paper current collectors (TitanPapSt) in terms of performance characteristics and material efficiency.
