Kick-off: SmarTestMEA – Developing and testing innovative electrodes for fuel cells and electrolysis

The partners met in Duisburg for the kick-off of the NRW-EFRE project SmarTestMEA to jointly develop innovative materials and test systems for more efficient PEM electrodes.

A project title that takes some getting used to: ‘Electrodes for PEMWE and PEMFC based on innovative support materials and their reproducible testing in a novel MEA test system (SmarTestMEA)’. But once you get into it, it’s great.

To mark the official launch of this NRW-EFRE project, the project partners Westfälische Hochschule, PROPULS, HSWmaterials, Institut für Umwelt & Energie, Technik & Analytik (IUTA) and ZBT recently came together for a kick-off meeting at the IUTA in Duisburg. This exciting project aims to break new ground in the development of electrodes for PEM fuel cells and electrolysers. Together, we will research innovative materials and develop an advanced testing system that will significantly increase the reproducibility and efficiency of MEAs.

We look forward to working together and to the exciting developments that lie ahead!
