Good scientific practice at ZBT

The ZBT follows the principles of good scientific practice and consistently implements the corresponding DFG code for ‘Ensuring Good Scientific Practice’. In addition, all scientific staff are committed to the GWP guidelines of the University of Duisburg-Essen, our shareholder.

Our Science Management and Communication department accompanies and supports the research work in our specialist departments and ensures the consistently high quality of our work. It coordinates and promotes the qualification of scientific staff and provides support in the publication and dissemination of our research results.

The ZBT Research School

The ZBT Research School is an interdepartmental institution that serves as a forum for exchange on research topics related to hydrogen technologies.

In a weekly seminar series, members present status reports on planned, ongoing or recently completed projects, as well as scientific publications from leading journals in hydrogen research.

PhD Peer Mentoring

The ZBT supports employees who wish to pursue a doctorate with its own peer mentoring programme. In small groups, they develop their topics, plan the next steps and discuss challenges.

Internal training

The ZBT regularly offers continuing education courses for research assistants on topics such as research proposals, publishing, project work and technical methods. The events are open, practical and thrive on the exchange of ideas among colleagues. Many take advantage of the opportunity to develop together and learn from each other.

Dealing with scientific misconduct

Good scientific practice also includes dealing with possible violations in a transparent and responsible manner. If there are uncertainties or suspected misconduct, employees can contact our ombudspersons at any time.

The consultation is confidential and is intended to help clarify misunderstandings, resolve conflicts at an early stage and ensure scientific integrity.
