The hydrogen and
fuel cell center
ZBT GmbH

We cordially invite you to the fourth PRHYDE webinar!

The fourth PRHYDE webinar will take place on 20th of September 2021 from 15:00-17:00 CET. Presented will be the progress and further steps in the PRHYDE project. The webinar will take place just before the start of the International Conference of Hydrogen Safety (ICHS), organised by the International Association of Hydrogen Safety.

If you would like to attend this webinar and have not yet received information via the PRHYDE newsletter, please send a message to info(at)prhyde.eu

These are the most important news:

  •  Our project partners Nikola, Air Liquide and ENGIE have started conducting the first tests under
specific experimental conditions to validate simulations against experimental data.
  •  We at ZBT will soon start application-related research at our newly commissioned test facility.

ZBTs focus in the project is the following:

  •  Adaptation of the test field
  •  Instrumentation of the tanks
  •  Experimental model and protocol validations for refuelling 700/500/350 bar tanks in the test field

Background information on the PRHYDE project

  •  Topic: Protocol for the refuelling of hydrogen in heavy-duty traffic
  •  Timeframe: start Jan 20 / duration 3 years / H2020 / grant agreement no. 874997.
  •  Project objectives:
     - Identify the relevant requirements for refuelling heavy duty vehicles
     - Determination of limitations and gaps of current refuelling hardware (for HDV)
     - Development of concepts for HDV refuelling protocols
     - Validation of the impact of HDV refuelling protocol concepts on the achievement of key
performance indicators (temperature and pressure) on the vehicle side through experimental
validation of the fuelling of the tanks at the stations
     - Formulation of recommendations for HDV refuelling protocols to be used in relevant
standardisation forums with the aim of globalised standardisation.

We are also pleased to collaborate with our project partners on practical risk assessment of the protocol aspects of heavy-duty vehicle refuelling with the following laboratories in the United States: (Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
