The hydrogen and
fuel cell center
ZBT GmbH

What does ZBT actually do? – ALL THIS AND MORE! Take a video flight through the institute

The Centre for Fuel Cell Technology in Duisburg, Germany shows its best sides in its brand new blockbuster; the fuel cell side, the hydrogen side and the battery side.

Overview and insight: The new ZBT film shows what the scientists at the institute are working on. (Click on the image to start the video on Youtube)

Changes. Challenges. Chances. The structural change in the Ruhr region is just picking up speed again. The old centre of German energy technology is transforming into a new energy centre. This time not with coal, but with hydrogen, one of the energy carriers of the future! ZBT plays a central role in accelerating the hydrogen economy. After all, research on hydrogen and fuel cells has been going on here for more than 20 years – with a team of now more than 150 clever minds. Hardly anywhere is the density of experts higher.

But what exactly does ZBT do? Researching fuel cells, of course – as the name suggests. But electrolysis, battery technology, hydrogen analysis and hydrogen infrastructure with storage, transport, refuelling technology and protocols are also some of the focal points of ZBT research.

And although we always like to explain to everyone what we do, we have now made a film where you can easily take a tour of the institute from anywhere there is internet anytime, for example on Youtube (or click on the picture). Among other things, you can find out how ZBT researches technologies for the production, storage, transport and delivery of hydrogen, how the ZBT team develops and tests technologies for the construction of an efficient, safe hydrogen infrastructure, how we optimise and further develop fuel cell stacks and their components, what we contribute to the development of innovative battery technology...

But even in this film, not everything fit in. So if you still have questions after watching the film, feel free to contact us (info(at)zbt.de)! We are happy to explain in person...

And if you can imagine shaping the energy system of the future with us, you can find out about exciting, challenging, fulfilling career opportunities here.
