A ZBT 3 kW HT-PEM fuel cell stack with liquid cooling has now been installed and operated in combination with an adsorption chiller. ZBT has developed, manufactured and installed the fuel cell stack and was responsible for the stack controls.
A HT PEM stack is being operated at 130 °C to 200° C which allows an optimal integration into any form of heat usage. Challenge for the development is the identification of suitable materials both for the stack components and the cooling media.
The developed 3 kW-Stack delivered enough heat to derive 1,8 kW cooling power, cooling temperatures down to 0°C could be reached.
