   ZBT is developing air-cooled lightweight fuel cells with a high power density for research into an innovative, hydrogen-based drive system for UAVs and aircraft in the 25 kg to 2 tonne weight class.
   The first Hydrogen Energy Symposium offered exciting insights into current hydrogen research. Numerous scientists presented their work on electrolysis, fuel cells and energy carriers. The event was also an excellent opportunity for researchers to network extensively.
   Knowing the current water distribution in the fuel cell during operation is an important aspect in optimising the performance and service life of the fuel cell. In the new ‘US Fuel Cell’ project, ZBT and its partners are developing an innovative method based on ultrasonic waves.

   Duisburg's first fuel cell buses have arrived. They are refuelling at ZBT's hydrogen test filling station for training purposes. They will soon make Duisburg's local transport even cleaner.
   The ZBT welcomed a delegation from Innovate UK, who learnt about the hydrogen ecosystem in the Ruhr region and explored opportunities for a green future together.
   Unser Förderverein veranstaltet anlässlich seiner Mitgliederversammlung 2024 wieder ZBT Insights: "Technische Herausforderungen der H2-Distribution – Pipelines, Verdichter, Sensorik".    With the opening of the HyTechLab4NRW at the ZBT in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia is setting an important milestone for hydrogen research. The state-of-the-art laboratory is intended to drive forward the development of innovative fuel cell and energy systems and strengthen NRW's role as an industrial centre.
   The Hy.Summit.Rhein.Ruhr 2024 kicked off with a high-calibre opening gala in Duisburg and provided important impetus for the hydrogen ramp-up in the Ruhr region. Political and economic players discussed concrete steps towards the energy transition - from research to industry.
