It enables cost-efficient hydrogen production through the use of precious metal-free catalysts. At the same time, proven manufacturing and design principles from PEM technologies can be utilised.  <\/h4>\n        <div class=\"intro__text\"><div id=\"c4103\" class=\"csc-frame csc-frame-frame1\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\">We cover the entire value chain \u2013 from the development and <strong>synthesis of precious metal-free catalysts<\/strong> to the manufacture and processing of <strong>membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs)<\/strong> to <strong>system integration and long-term testing<\/strong>. In addition to material development, we optimise <strong>production processes<\/strong> and support scaling from the laboratory phase to large-scale implementation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"teaser-grid teaser-grid--white\"\n    dir=\"ltr\">\n    <div class=\"teaser-grid__content\" dir=\"ltr\">\n        <h2 class=\"teaser-grid__heading\">Research and applied development for industrial applications<\/h2>\n        <div class=\"teaser-grid__text\"><div id=\"c4102\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1363\">Our focus is on the manufacture and characterisation of new <strong>precious metal-free catalysts<\/strong> and the development of innovative <strong>MEA manufacturing processes<\/strong>. Various coating techniques are used, such as spray processes and large-area doctor blade and slot die coating processes. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1758\">In tests, we use <strong>measuring cells with specially adapted flow fields<\/strong>. Our measuring equipment enables the characterisation of single cells with active areas of 5 to 25 cm\u00b2 in long-term tests under real operating conditions, including up to 8 bar for AEM water electrolysis. In addition to our own catalyst synthesis, we work with partners to research precious metal-free materials for use in AEM electrolysers. Our <strong>test benches<\/strong> allow long-term tests according to predefined test protocols with a current runtime limit of 100 hours. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"532\" data-end=\"834\">In addition to electrochemical investigations, the <strong>quality assurance<\/strong> of MEA manufacturing processes is carried out using high-resolution analytics, including \u00b5XRF mapping and layer thickness analyses.
