At ZBT, the focus is on two innovative technologies: PEM water electrolysis is characterised by high power density and fast dynamics, while AEM water electrolysis targets cost-effective materials and promises long-term economic potential. It enables the cost-effective production of hydrogen through the use of <strong data-start=\"401\" data-end=\"435\">precious metal-free catalysts<\/strong> and proven polymer membrane technologies. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"480\" data-end=\"715\">Research and development focus on <strong data-start=\"533\" data-end=\"607\">optimising membranes, catalysts and MEA manufacturing processes<\/strong>. Scalable coating techniques such as <strong data-start=\"667\" data-end=\"712\">spray, doctor blade or slot die processes<\/strong> are used. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"896\"><strong data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"762\">Long-term tests under real conditions<\/strong> (e.g. up to 8 bar) and <strong data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"814\">high-resolution analysis<\/strong> ensure quality and enable transfer to industrial applications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"1019\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The work is carried out in the <strong data-start=\"927\"
