Our models help to understand systems, identify weak points and efficiently develop new solutions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"text-teaser text-teaser--dark\">\n  <h2 class=\"text-teaser__heading\">from microstructure to complete system<\/h2>\n  <div class=\"text-teaser__text\"><p>We model <strong>electrochemical systems<\/strong> on various scales \u2013 from microscopic multiphase flow in porous media to the interaction of different modules in complex drive and conversion processes. We use detailed particle and continuum methods to <strong>investigate local distributions<\/strong> in individual components, as well as reduced models and data-based approaches for entire systems or long-term investigations. A particular focus is on the further development of cross-scale models and efficient simulation approaches for transferring fundamental knowledge into application. class=\"text-teaser__text\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"367\" data-end=\"695\"><strong>Simulation-based analyses<\/strong> help us to evaluate hydrogen systems holistically \u2013 from individual components to the entire plant. We use <strong>process simulations, variant analyses and dynamic models<\/strong> to optimise operating points, validate new concepts and investigate complex plant configurations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"1029\">To ensure that our models are meaningful and robust, we base them on <strong>experimental reference data<\/strong> \u2013 from our own test benches or in close cooperation with research partners.
