Lohmann GmbH & Co. KG – The Bonding Engineers.<\/p>\n

The supporting association of ZBT “Verein zur F\u00f6rderung des Zentrums f\u00fcr BrennstoffzellenTechnik e.V. ” is pleased to welcome the company Lohmann GmbH & Co. KG from Neuwied \/ Germany as new member.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

With a long history stretching back over 161 years, Lohmann is one of the pioneering forces in adhesive tape technology. The Group now offers the most advanced adhesive solutions to all corners of the globe. The creative ability of Lohmann adhesive engineers manifests itself in many ways. It is evident wherever you look, from the global specification work and individual product development through to innovative adhesive constructions. On-site mechanical integration of the adhesive solution supports and optimizes the customer’s production process. The Lohmann “Bonding Engineers” focuse on the core markets consumer goods and electronics, transportation, graphics, building and renewables, and medical. The Lohmann Adhesive Tape Group has 1600 employees around the world and is headquartered in Neuwied, Germany.<\/p>\n

Together with the R&D service provider ZBT Lohmann tests and optimzes self adhesive materials as components for fuel cells.Sealing products for example are of enormous significance here, as they seal the bipolar plate cells to the fuels (e.g. hydrogen) in the fuel cell area. Self-adhesive sealant is particularly well suited to these purposes, because alongside its sealing properties, it also guarantees stability and can be applied precisely. Lohmann has therefore developed the sealing adhesive tape: DuploTEC FCT (fuel cell technology) with an acrylic base. This self-adhesive sealant is suitable for PEM (proton exchange membrane) fuel cells and for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC).<\/p>\n

With it’s engagement for ZBT’s supporting association Lohmanns emphasises that industry near and application oriented research and development is essential for product development for fuel cells and new energy technologies. Goal of the supporting association is the support of ZBT’s R&D activities in the field of fuel cell related technologies by e.g.:<\/p>\n
