The\u00a0<b>skilled workers<\/b>\u00a0of tomorrow must be trained so that they can also work with it. This is why 16 trainees started the newly developed\u00a0<b>additional qualification<\/b>\u00a0in hydrogen, the only one of its kind in Germany. To kick off the course, the trainees and their trainers visited the\u00a0Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Center\u00a0(ZBT). Among other things, they learnt about occupational safety, risk assessment, environmental protection and a number of technical topics. The participants were also able to watch a live fuel cell test, visit the hydrogen test field and were instructed in the\u00a0<a class=\"external-link-new-window\" title=\"Opens external link in new window\" href=\"https:\/\/openfuelcell.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OpenFuelCell<\/a>\u00a0by Burghard Lutter. This additional qualification was\u00a0<b>jointly developed<\/b>\u00a0by the\u00a0<a class=\"external-link-new-window\" title=\"Opens external link in new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ihk.de\/niederrhein\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Duisburg-Wesel-Kleve Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the Lower Rhine region<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"external-link-new-window\" title=\"Opens external link in new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thyssenkrupp-steel.com\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thyssenkrupp Steel Europe<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"external-link-new-window\" title=\"Opens external link in new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hkm.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">H\u00fcttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH (HKM)<\/a>, ZBT and the\u00a0\u00a0<a class=\"external-link-new-window\" title=\"Opens external link in new window\" href=\"https:\/\/rbbk-duisburg.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert-Bosch Vocational College<\/a>. Among other things, we trained the instructors and developed the training materials. For the trainees, knowing how to handle hydrogen correctly is a\u00a0<b>unique selling point on the labour market<\/b>. A total of 16 trainees from thyssenkrupp and HKM started the first round of the programme and completed seven modules. On 23 training days, everything revolves around\u00a0<b>hydrogen: producing, transporting and using it safely<\/b>. The course concludes with an\u00a0<b>IHK examination<\/b>.
