International Delegation from the Baltic States Visits the ZBT<\/h1>\n

The ZBT welcomed a delegation of about 25 experts from Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. The participants represented a broad spectrum of fields, including energy, infrastructure, research, and regulation, and utilised the visit to engage in a professional exchange on current developments in the energy and hydrogen sectors. <\/h4>\n

How can materials for fuel cell systems be reliably evaluated before they affect performance and service life in real operation? Denis Gr\u00fcn and Ulrich Misz from the ZBT have statistically validated an in-situ test method for material qualification<\/strong> for PEM fuel cells, thereby creating an important basis for reproducible material evaluations<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Insights into Research and Infrastructure<\/h2>\n

To kick things off, Theresa Schredelseker from the Science Management and Communications Office presented the institute and its main areas of research<\/strong>. Ulrich Gardemann, Group Leader for Methane Technologies, then provided an in-depth look at the activities of the Energy Sources and Processes Department. The program was rounded out by a presentation from Greenlyte Carbon Technologies on the Direct Air Capture (DAC) facility<\/strong> at the ZBT\u2019s hydrogen test field, which is directly connected to the institute\u2019s methanation plant. <\/p>\n

During a tour of the institute<\/strong>, the guests were given a look at the main laboratory<\/strong> and the hydrogen test field<\/strong>. The tour provided numerous opportunities for technical discussions and an exchange of views on research and application issues. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

International Networking and New Perspectives<\/h2>\n

The delegation consisted of representatives from ministries, energy agencies, and regulatory authorities; gas and transmission system operators; the port industry and district heating sector; as well as engineering and consulting firms, universities, and technology and research institutions.<\/p>\n

The visit provided valuable impetus for international knowledge exchange<\/strong> and opened up promising prospects for future cooperation<\/strong> with partners in the Baltic region.<\/p>\n
