For everyone else, an explanation may be necessary:<\/p>\n<p>What is a <strong>PTL<\/strong>? And what is the significance of the pores in the <strong>titanium foil<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>porous transport layer<\/strong> (PTL) is a central component of electrolysers, especially in <strong>proton exchange membrane water electrolysis<\/strong> (PEMWE).<\/p>\n<p><strong>It fulfils three important tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It transports water to the catalyst layer, where it is separated into protons and oxygen.<\/li>\n<li>It conducts the resulting gases away.<\/li>\n<li>It establishes electrical contact between the catalyst and the current collector. The laser-structured titanium foils specifically <strong>reduce mass transport losses<\/strong> while ensuring excellent <strong>electrical connection of the catalyst layer<\/strong>. This poses the risk of reduced mileage and reliability characteristics of FCEVs that do not meet customer needs.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the <strong>H2-Fuel<\/strong> project was to create a data basis for the necessary adaptation of ISO 14687-2 for <strong>hydrogen dispensing quality<\/strong> at filling stations, taking into account current and future fuel cell configurations and the economic efficiency of the overall system.<br \/>\nZBT scientist Florian Ansorge presented the results of our contribution to the project on a poster at the EFCF: We investigated <strong>load profiles for PEM fuel cells<\/strong> in order to be able to quantitatively determine the effects of hydrogen contamination on PEMFCs in the future.<\/p>\n<p><a
