What potential lies dormant here in the context of renewable energies, sector coupling and hydrogen derivatives? <\/p>\n<p>In the project, a <b>power-to-gas demonstration platform<\/b> was set up and operated that combines established and innovative technologies such as photovoltaics, electrolysis, <sub>direct CO2 capture<\/sub> from the air and chemical methanation in a plant network. One specific R&amp;D topic was the further development of ZBT&#8217;s own <b>methanation technology<\/b>. The accompanying modeling and simulation should enable the transfer of different configurations of process chains and operating strategies to other locations, scales and conditions.  <\/p>\n<p>The results support the evaluation and optimisation of future energy systems with a high proportion of renewable energies, but also highlight the need for further research and development.
