Hydrogen refuelling systems – in addition to hydrogen refuelling stations meaning: refuelling systems for trailers, shipping containers, trains, etc. – play a fundamental role in the transport and use of gaseous hydrogen. The requirements for these systems can be very individual and change within time, making design and operation extremely difficult.
To make it easier for planners to calculate and model hydrogen filling systems, ZBT and the Chair of Energy Technology (LET) of Prof. Harry Hoster at the University of Duisburg-Essen have jointly developed a tool for simulating such systems. Originally launched with a focus on hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS), the HRS-Modell can now be used for all types of hydrogen refuelling systems.
From the beginning, the aim was to make the tool publicly available. This has now been achieved and the tool can be downloaded free of charge from the it's own website (find link below). The website contains the most important information about the model, the project and the planned activities. Partners and companies can download the MATLAB Simulink-based tool and use it themselves or work with the research centres in workshops or seminars.
