Kick-off: SmarTestMEA – Developing and testing innovative electrodes for fuel cells and electrolysis

The partners met in Duisburg for the kick-off of the NRW-EFRE project SmarTestMEA to jointly develop innovative materials and test systems for more efficient PEM electrodes.

Kick-off at IUTA: The SmarTestMEA project is now really getting underway.

A project title that you have to get through first: ‘Electrodes for PEMWE and PEMFC based on innovative support materials and their reproducible testing in a novel MEA test system (SmarTestMEA)’. But once you're in, it's great.

Recently, the project partners Westfälische Hochschule, PROPULS, HSWmaterials, Institute for Environment & Energy, Technology & Analytics (IUTA) and ZBT came together for a kick-off meeting at IUTA in Duisburg, Germany to give this NRW-EFRE project a fitting start. This exciting project aims to break new ground in the development of electrodes for PEM fuel cells and electrolysers. Together we will research innovative materials and develop an advanced test system that will significantly increase the reproducibility and efficiency of MEAs.

We are looking forward to the collaboration and the exciting developments that lie ahead!
