Already since the year 2005 ZBT is working together with different student teams for their engagement at the annual Shell Eco Marathon. At the event in Rotterdam (Netherlands) for the first time 4 teams have been powered by ZBT fuel cell stacks:
The stepwise system development since 2005 for this very special application has now resulted in system efficiencieswell above 60 %. The special demands regarding compact system architectures, mobile application and high efficiency have to be fulfilled with respect to the competitions rules and regulations.
The race happened between 17. and 19.05.2012 for the first time on a suburban track in Rotterdam.
The Teams of H2Amsterdam, Fortis Saxonia and Ecorunner made the places 6, 7 and 8 in the hydrogen challenge. With its first appearance with ZBT stacks Amsterdam won the “internal competition” and is best dutch team 2012!
